We’ll caravan from one legendary pizza spot to another, using scenic or offbeat driving routes between each — the journey becomes part of the fun, not just the eating. Think of it as a culinary greenlaning adventure.

Route & Pizza Stops

We will start in New Haven, then radiate outward, ending at a local brewery for frosty beverages and secret handshakes. We’ll take the scenic routes and stop for a photo-op.

Voting

Secret Ballot Cards – Each participant gets a printed card with the following categories:

  • Crust Perfection (how sturdy is that frame?)

  • What it measures: The quality, texture, and char of the crust (the signature New Haven "Apizza" char).

  • Score based on: Crispiness, chewiness, flavor, and airiness of the edges (the cornicione).

  • Topping/Ingredient Quality

  • What it measures: The freshness, amount, and taste of the ingredients (sauce, cheese, and any specific toppings like clams or hot oil).

  • Score based on: Flavor balance, richness of the sauce, and quality of the mozzarella/parmesan blend

  • Overall Flavor Harmony

  • What it measures: How well all the components—crust, sauce, and toppings—work together to create a single, satisfying slice.

  • Score based on: The "Wow" factor and how memorable the overall taste experience is.

  • The "Landy" Factor

  • What it measures: The usability and portability of the slice—how well it holds up for trail eating or traveling.

  • Score based on: Structural integrity, grease level, and how easily you could eat it while comparing RAVE manual instructions.

We will collect and tally scores at the end to announce a winning pizzeria!

This is an Invite Only - Private Event.

Each registrant is allowed one vehicle, and as many souls as you can pack into it, make sure to leave room for spare pizza.

Registration does not include pizza or any additional costs such as parking fees. We believe it’s best to let you explore each menu and order accordingly to ensure your pizza expedition is customized to your taste, although we will make recommendations based on the location.

Registration cost is $30 and includes one shirt
and some event merchandise.
Additional shirts are available for purchase.
